A chef too!!!

My husband wears many hats and last night he was my personal chef! He made yummy baked tilapia on a beautiful bed of wild rice and corn with chopped spinach drizzles with olive oil! Can you say yummy?!? And healthy too!

Great weekend!

What a fun productive weekend at the Hiatt house!!! Saturday after work I did my moms hair while my dad,hub,and baby Maddox went to home depot to get lumber for my raised beds!!! Yes it is going to happen....I am growing a veggie garden this spring!!!' maybe some fruit and a couple herbs!!! I'm so excited about this:) we all worked very hard to get it going! We had a yummy Mexican dinner before they headed back home! Sunday we started off with church, Maddox had more fun in the daycare this time then last ! Haha!!! We relaxed and watched a few movies the rest of the day:) I met one of my best girls for lunch on Monday and then back home to finish our second raised bed! I'm definitely ready for the warm weather so I can grow my garden!!! Love love my weekends with my family! Love getting exercise outside in the yard,feels so great!!!

Fun Friday!!

When I got home today Arjaye showed me this video of Maddox on his four wheeler! He has finally mastered how to ride it all by himself and this is so cute and funny. I have just posted a little bit of the video for your entertainment!

I then made a new yummy dinner that I found off of ......yep pinterest! It's called taco cupcakes and they were so yummy! I will keep these on the menu at the Hiatt household! I forgot but next time I will add some chopped spinach to top it off!

Easy recipe too! I'll have to ask Ms. Kelly if I can link my pinterest board to make it easy to go right to the recipe:)

Day off

Ok it's for sure...we are having a girl! We got another ultrasound today just to be sure...I was getting concerned after we bought a "few" girl items so I just wanted to make sure! So bring on the pink and glitter!!!! Wooo hooo!!!! Been a pretty low key day other than that did a few things around the house then Maddox and I went for a quick walk! Happy Thursday!!!

Lazy weekend!

Well the Hiatt's had a pretty lazy weekend this time around. Oh well got to have one here and there' The most exciting event this weekend was that we finally tried out Leclaire Christian Church in Edwardsville! Yay!!!! We were even on time! Haha! As soon as we walked into the door there was my client Debbie, so glad to see her first...took away all my worries of being in a new place:) she showed us to the daycare where we left Maddox during the service.....haha oh that was interesting...he got down and grabbed some toys went up to a little girl so we rolled out...only to come back when church was over to a very distraught crying little Maddox! He latched on to Arjaye and was not letting go! First time for everything! Haha:) we really enjoyed church and will be back next weekend! We met my mom in fairview afterwards and did a little shopping at kohls and old navy. Kohls had the biggest sale ever!!! We got Maddox a fall/winter wardrobe and clothes for the new baby also and hubby and myself got a few goodies too! We got over 30 items for $150!!!! It was insane!!!! And I had a $50 gift card!!! Wooo wooo!!! Snatched up some good deals at old navy also...winter coat for Maddox for $8 !!!!!! Had dinner at chili's and back home for us. We watched the Grammy's and lay around on the couch! I especially enjoyed the Beach Boys and Paul McCartney;)
I had a doctor appt this morning all is good and right on track! Funny tid bit....heartbeat was 140 usually 160 Maddox's was always around 140 just hoping the ultrasound tech was right and there is a girl in my belly because I have purchased a "few" girly outfits and a few pairs of shoes and have very pink girl ideas for the nursery!!!!...haha oh well!!! We will know for sure soon! Xo:)

Superbowl Sunday!

Oh what a day it was! Since I got  my prep work done on Saturday, we started our Superbowl Sunday off with a quick trip to the zoo! This was Maddox's first trip ever to the zoo and I think he really enjoyed it:) It was so nice because there was no traffic and no crowds to fight once we got in! One more thing I loved was easy exercise! Walking for a couple hours up and down a few hills pushing the stroller was a good workout and my legs are feeling it today! Maddox got to see lions, tigers, monkeys, birds, snakes, turtles, zebras and a few other animals. Sadly the elephants and and the cheetah were not out for us to see...Arjaye was the most bummed I think! ha! oh well there is always next time!

Once we got home it was nap time for Maddox and cooking time for Mommy! We enjoyed lots of yummy dishes this year all new to the menu except for my stuffed shrimp that I always make for the Superbowl! We were a bit lonely since my little cousin Adam couldn't make it this year but we will continue the tradition with him next year! As I said we had stuffed shrimp, I also made this yummy white cheese dip, crock pot chicken tacos, and cupcakes for dessert! Everything was pretty simple and turned out sooo good! The cupcakes were prolly the best I've ever had, I made the cake and butter cream from scratch which is a first for me! My grandma got me some cake decorating tools for Christmas this year and I gave it a go at decorating my cupcakes too! We had a really  fun Superbowl together this year and hubs bet on the Giants to win so he won a little money....maybe a v-day gift for his lovely wife??? we'll see;) haha!

A Saturday off;)

Once a month I get a Saturday off and they are always so much fun! I feel so "normal" being home on a Saturday! Haha! What I love about it...sleeping in with my favorite boys...knowing everything I get done before three is super productive since I usually work til then! Today was prep work for the superbowl, cupcakes are baked and iced and I will finish up in the morning with the yummy hot goodies I am making this year! I also got in a thirty min pilates workout in and got much quality play time with baby blue...always so fun;) my mom grandma and lil cousin Braelyn came by and we went out to dinner and had some quality fam time before and after! Maddox was very entertaining for all of us! Haha! Now it's a movie,popcorn and laying on the couch for the evening:) check out the pics of the little dare devil himself standing up on his four wheeler!

productive day!

  I love the feeling of being productive on a day off! We got a lot done today. The funnest part of the day was I got to play outside with Maddox,this was the first time we have ever played outside together besides the brief outing in the snow a couple weeks ago. We walked up and down the hill in the front yard, walked around the fence, helped Daddy with a little yard work and then best of all took a ride on the trike for the first time outside of the house, exercise and fun all rolled into one:)

*Went to motherhood maternity to get some shirts....scored with an awesome sale and got to use my gift card! double fun for this girl;)
*bath time-always our fav! Maddox is so smart-when I tell him its bath time he knows right where to go! sorry about the bragging....cant really help it..haha!
     I am so excited about our weekend! Only one more day of work for me then off til next Tuesday! Fun three days with my boys!
 I must also note that I am very very thankful for the blessings in my life, my husband, baby, family, and my friends.In life you only have a few people on your team and it's so important to know who they are and to nurture those relationships! I am very very fortunate for my teammates:) the love, support, and advice is exactly what I need to guide me on my way...of course none of this is possible without God whom we owe it all to! Along with my hopeful obsession with health this year I really really want to find a church to go to and be a part of. I feel like that is the only thing that is missing in our life and would make it all so complete.  To know that our children will be raised with good christian values and morals is number one on my list! Here is to the search for a church!

A day in the life of Maddox,oh to be a kid again and have not one little worry in the world!!!!!

surprise!!!

    Been a lil while since my last post...my goal is to get better at posting more often even if its just a little something!
     Last Saturday night we had a surprise 50th birthday party for my Mom and she was sooooo surprised! It was so much fun! My Aunt Sally and  Aunt Benay helped put everything together and it turned out great! Balloons,streamers,party hats,cake,fifty candles,old pics,and as soon as my mom walked into the room a big "SURPRISE'' from the whole fam:) All of the family was able to make it except Avery and Erika-it was homecoming for the cute couple, despite their absence she had a blast! I have a few pics I want to post from the party!
