We slept in with the babies and got some cuddle and play time in before my parents picked them up for their "slumber party"!!!
Of course I'm always super sad and anxious for myself when I'm away from them but super excited and happy that they get to spend time with their grandparents without us around. I am excited to have a fun weekend, well overnight getaway with some of my fave people, celebrating the best music of ALL time!!! I must post a pic of my outfit, tried a new trend that I haven't been able to do ever...black and brown together! Ha! I wore my new fringe boots I snatched up at kohls the other day!
Whoa!!! Fashionista I am. Riiiight....
Ok let's ride, cause we have four hours to knock out! The concert was at The Midland, it was beautiful! Reminded me a lot of The Fox Theatre in Stl, built in the 1920's and just stunning architecture! A really cool place! It was located in the "power and light" district and that is a pretty neat place besides the haters-more on that later;)
We had pretty sweet seats and lots of room for dancing!!! At the end of course, but I could have grooved to the music all night, and not just in my chair! The music was unbelievable!
This concert was such a production! Similar to Rainn-who we saw at The Fox. They started at the beginning of The Beatles journey and went through all the albums. We even had Ed Sullivan as our host!!! The end was by far my fave part since they did a collaboration of each individual artist. Ringo, John, Paul, and George each gave us a little taste of their own songs. And dancing lots of dancing, hooping, and hollering at the end, and a couple encore performances. I mean it just doesn't get any more fun/cool/hippie than that shit right there!!! Loved it!
So we decided to hit up a couple bars for the live music and in hopes of a pool table. The first one we attempted we were denied access because my little cousins was about four days expired, wtf, for real? But he is 26...ok whatever. Profiled? Yeah kinda. Next stop, oh sorry you two hippie lookin dudes- no bandanas...are you fing kidding me? Is this a joke? Profiled again? I mean yeah kinda....where is a hole in the wall bar??? Please we just wanna have a drink! Finally God bless the door man at some Irish pub! We got in, got some drinks and the best fish and chips I've ever had! This area was pretty cool cause all the bars interconnected in the middle outside with fire pits, seats, a huge dance floor, and a dj. Not "our" kinda music but it was still really cool!
So to end our night I decided to accept the challenge of a game of pool from my better half. I really suck at pool but it's still fun. I had lots of encouragement from the sidelines though. Somehow I made the most amazing shot of my life at the end, I mean some kind of crazy ass bank shot and I even called it! Arjaye said it was the best shot he'd ever seen! Wooo wooo!!! Then the eight ball, boom in the pocket! I. Beat. My. Husband. This will prolly never happen again and of course now he "let" me win! No I kicked his ass at the end for sure!!!! I'll hold on to that for a long time!!! So we decided to call it a night and head to the hotel. Of course we decided to exit on the end where the guy refused us entry so that was nice😉
Thankful for a fun safe trip with my husband and cousin plus Stephanie-who is a doll! Thankful for family, love, and faith! Here's to the next one! Peace!
